Discussion

In a discussion, two or more participants interact in a dialogue on a particular subject. Each of the participants puts forward his/her arguments.

In discussions, the accurate transmission of information is of key importance, regardless of whether the interaction takes place within the framework of a seminar, a conference, or some other form of meeting. Effective communication is only possible when all participants can understand each other.

To make this possible, Brähler ICS Konferenztechnik AG offers just the right solutions – our AUTOMIC, CDS200 II and CDSVAN discussion systems. A discussion system consists of a number of microphones which enable the individual participants to join in the interaction and to express their opinions. The connected loudspeaker system ensures that they can be easily understood.

The AUTOMIC discussion system is an easy-to-use stand-alone microphone system for conferences. It offers all the benefits and features of the analogue DIGIMIC discussion system, which has been used successfully around the world for decades now.
AUTOMIC offers a state-of-the-art microphone unit for the conference delegates, as well as a high degree of flexibility and reliability. It is now also immune to radio interference from mobile communication devices such as mobile phones, WLAN devices and Bluetooth laptops.
The new AUTOMIC system is fully compatible with the analogue DIGIMIC system and can be used with the latter’s components without restrictions.

The digital-analogue CDS200 transmission system offers reliability, quality and low costs. And this is all the more true of its latest version, the CDS200 II. All the network components are connected via single-cable technology. The length of the cabling is not critical, although it is limited by the power demanded by increasing numbers of microphones. Any number of microphones can be connected simultaneously using pairs of cables without loss of performance. In this case, we use a zero-ohm method, similar to studio networking.
Alternatively, the outgoing microphone signals from the central unit can be fed to a mixer to operate in a stand-alone mode, processed, and then fed back to the microphone loudspeakers or to a central loudspeaker system.

CDSVAN combines a conference system (Congress Data System) with digital audio processing in real time (Virtual Audio Network). For conventional conference systems, new functions and extensions must usually be realised by means of additional hardware. Most of the hardware investment involved can be avoided using the CDSVAN software.

CDSVAN works entirely without audio compression and thus offers users an excellent sound quality in all language channels.

CDSVAN is a conference system with an open architecture. This means that complex systems featuring multiroom-management, function control via IP networks, or interfaces to other systems can easily be realised. All language signals can be realised in a variety of formats (AES-EBU, S/PDIF, ADAT, ASIO, WAV, etc.) at a number of different interfaces.
